Aug 20, 2011. Bellator 48 didn’t dissappoint. Pat Curran in the main event, knocked down Marlon Sandro
with a powerful right leg kick and ko’d him on the ground to take the Bellator FW Tourney. He now gets a
shot @ Joe Warren’s title. Great fight!
Cole Konrad def Paul Buentello by UD in a real dull fight.
A real show stopper was Seth “The Silverback” Petruzzelli’s KO of a much bigger Ricco “Suave” Rodriguez.
Petrezulli had nice Karate kicks and heavy hands. Now Ricco was on a 12 fight win streak and Seth, although
2-0 since his release from the UFC was considered a one hit wonder from his ko of Kimbo Slice. I said it
before and I’ll say it again…”The Silverback” is no one hit wonder. He’s been doing Martial arts since he was a
kid. Seth landed 2 spinning back kicks, a traight right and down went Ricco, Tthough he looked out when he hit
the ground, Ref Dan Marigliotta didn’t stop the fight before Sethlanded 2 hammerfists. Must admit, I did pick
former UFC HW World Champ znd Abu Dhabi winner Rodriguez to win by sub. Petruzelli is now looking to get
his hands on the LH Championship Belt.
Undefeated Rene Negaro continued his win streak with a TKO of Juan Burranto R2 (doctor stoppage}.
Is Bellator now the #2 MMA promotion in the nation? Sure looks that way.
See You @ the fights!
